Belching problems; no intestinal problems

Belching problems; no intestinal problems

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere in this forum. I've had excessive belching for several years. Had upper GI -- hiatal hernia found but nothing else. Occasional bloating and sour stomach but no significant intestinal problems. I take Prilosec for periodic heartburn but it doesn't really help the belching. Certain foods seem to worsen belching but it's hard to pin it down. Also, belching severity comes and goes but always there. Two GI docs have no clue -- we've tried motility drugs, barium, tested for stomach bacterium, etc. They say I must be swallowing air.

What can I do? If I'm swallowing air how can I stop it? Could this be related to the hiatal hernia?
