Belching

My husband is 51 years old and is overweight. He has been working hard exercising and watching what he eats. However, when he goes to the gym and exercise he is constantly belching long and hard. This happens only when he exercise. Why does this happen?

Hi...do u know if he has a hiatal hernia?...sometimes the exertion used in exercising may put a strain on the hernia as well as being overweight. Is he under the care of a GI dr ? or a PCP? At his age and being overweight a drs care for diet and exercise is highly suggested.

Good luck to ur DH

My guess would be that when you exercise, you are allowing your intestines to move around and stretch out to where trapped gas can escape. My husband has digestive problems, and when he goes for a walk after a meal, he always belches quite a bit, but it keeps him from getting a bloated belly and bellyache, so it's a good thing, although a bit embarrassing! My husband drinks aloe vera juice or wheatgrass juice to neutralize the gas, or takes charcoal tablets (health food store). They are great for burping problems.
