Bilirubin In urine

by Rob133, Jul 29, 2008 08:45PM
I had gallbladder surgery on July 9th and all went well. However, this Sunday the 27th I woke up with a fever of near 103.  The temp persisted all day, although around 100 because of Ibprofin. On Monday I went to my primary care doc and he took a urine sample to see if there was an infection present.  No infection was present, but he said there was bilirubin present. He said he did not think that this was the reason for the fever and that the fever was probably a virus and would take care of itself in a few days.  He said that he needed to research the bilirubin issue and figured that it was normal due to my recent surgery.  Is this normal?  Should I be concerned?  Could there be complications from the surgery that would be causing this bilirubin to be present 3 weeks after surgery?
