High blood cholesterol and triglycerides is normal range ( 190-200) for 55 year old man. My weight is 5-7 pounds above "new" weigth standards. I am in excellent overall health and exercise regularly. My question is can the level of the triglycerides be linked to my surgery and complications?

Dear Steve Zitnick.
Abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, weakness, fatigue can be symptoms of dumping syndrome. Vomiting, however, is usually not a dominant complaint. It is necessary to investigate other causes for your vomiting. You should have an upper endoscopy to exclude mechanical obstruction. If the endoscopy is normal, a gastric emptying study is needed. If both tests are normal other causes of the vomiting must be considered.
I do not think that your high triglycerides is related to your surgery and dumpimng syndrome.
