MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi, discolored or black stools can occur due to a condition called melena, where there is bleeding into the stools. Hematochezia is passing frank blood in stools. Both could be due to Haemorrhoids (piles). This can also be due to peptic ulcer disease, gastritis and due to certain medications like NSAIDs. So, if your symptoms persist or worsen consult your doctor. Regards.
