Black stools after colon resection

Is been a week after an ascendent colon resection and since I started to have regular bowell movements (3 days ago), they are really dark....is that normal?

I think you should ask your doctors/surgeon.  The medical name for dark coloured motions caused by intestinal bleeding is melena and you may want to google this word to find out more.

There may be an explanation - but I think you should seek medical advice in case there is some internal bleeding.
