Bleeding Hemorrhoids

by ceedee5631, Jun 22, 2009 08:31AM
I have recently been experiencing the loss of blood when I have a bowel movement.  However, when I lose the blood, which seems to be an extremely large amount, I experience a severe throbbing headache immediately.  Once the bleeding stops the headache will subside but not completely disappear.  Over the next 24 hours my head will ache slightly above the eye and down the side of my head to the base of my neck.  The strange thing is this.  I can have 5 bowel movements in a day and none will bleed, then I will have one more and the hemorrhoid(s) will burst and bleed profusely.  I have scheduled an appointment with my doctor and I know he will send me to a gasgtroenterologist for tests.  I did have a colonoscopy and they said I had hemorrhoids but nothing to worry about.  Does this seem like nothing to worry about to you?  I am now extremely concerned due to the pounding headache which has become part of the symptoms.

I don't see a correlation with the headache.  But I'm glad you are seeing your doctor and staying on top of this.  You have a lot of bowel movements, which needs to be addressed. I wish I could be of more help,  I like seeing people who are being pro-active with their health! Keep us posted on how you are doing.
