Bleeding in BM of a 3 year old

My daughter is 3 years old and has blood in her BM. I have taken a sample of her BM to two doctors and they said it was not blood. THe last doctor has concluded that it is blood in her BM. She now has an appointment with a specialist on February 21, . THis is the earliset appointment that I cuold get. Does any one have any idea what my daughters problem is and what can I do until the 21st. Please Help.

It's not uncommon, for anyone with constipation, (even toddlers)to have blood on the surface or sometimes in a stool. Is your daughter's BM hard or pellet-like? A child can have movements every day and still be constipated. Also, if your daughter strains with her movements, she may have developed a fissure or crack in or around the opening of her anus. This can produce blood on a stool. I encourage you to look closely at the BM and take note of these things. (Which you probably have already done, or a doctor has already told you} Is your daughter's diet lacking in fibre? Does she eat alot of constipating foods, like cheese, dairy products, breads, fries, bananas? Does she eat lots of ruffage, and a variety of fruits and veggies? If she is anything like my four year old son, the answer is no. He is very picky and would live on french fries, and cheese sandwiches, if I let him. I hope this helps,

your daughter also may have a food alergy (allergy) that you're unaware of. this problem is not uncommon with toddlers. it usually ends up being constipation, a food alergy (allergy) or a fissure. try not to worry!! you'll find out soon. if the blood is red that means that its coming from very low down in the colon (which would probably be the rectum), and its probably just hemmorhoids or a tear. i hope i've helped!

Thanks for your answers: At first her BM was hard but lately her BM are mostly soft. She doesn't strain at all. She loves cheese and bread but I try and make sure that she eats something out of each food group every day. She is also a big meat eater.
