Bloating, Fatigue, Depression...mold?

by vroomer64, Jun 26, 2009 01:06AM
Hi,

I'm a little concerned about what I've been experiencing of late.  As I wrote in the subject, I have been experiencing fatigue, depression and bloating.  I did some initial research on this and candida popped up.  This further concerns me because I had to move out of my apartment for the month of April while a mold abatement took place.   Is it possible that what I'm experiencing is related to this?  I am seeing a therapist for the therapy but the fatigue and most uncomfortably is the bloating.  It doesn't seem to matter the type of food or quantity.  Tonight I had half a dozen vegetable spring rolls with soy sauce and there went the bloating.  Getting a wee frustrated with all this.  Fact is, I've gone through some major stress and strain from January until recently, it has included a shoulder surgery, my mother being committed (which reopened old wounds for me) and a mold infestation in my bathroom that lead to legal action.  Now this...!!

Is this mold related...is this candida...what are the possible causes?  Please offer what advice you can for this major-med-insurance-only inquirer.

Much thanks,
Paul

The concept of candida overgrowth is controversial.  There are many clinicians, especially those who practice alternative medicine, that attribute many GI-related symptoms to candida.

But there are no concrete studies that suggests a clear connection.

You can consider a variety of other causes for bloating, including a variety of upper GI conditions like an ulcer or inflammation of the upper GI tract.  Celiac disease or irritable bowel syndrome can also be considered.

Evaluation can start with an upper GI series or an upper endoscopy.  If warranted, imaging of the abdomen can be done with an ultrasound or CT scan to look at the gallbladder or liver.
