History of a chronic perianal abscess brought on by laser with hemorrhoid operation. Suffered 3 years with multiple recurrences of before being able to be fixed with fistulectomy. During this time, started to develop gut trouble with chronic diarrhea. Increasingly got worse. 1 year ago, dxd with mild Crohn's (by DNA blood test and intestinal capsule camera) and severe IBS. CT of intestine 5 mo ago showed no narrowing, blockage, or thickening of intestinal wall. This past year have gained 30lbs despite hardly eating. Severe bloating and cramping with any food-and often times, with not even eating. Can't tolerate anything. Gut gets bloated and "hard" instantly. Have tried various diets, probiotics, etc. to no avail. Weight gain is distressing-calories less then 800-1000 daily and still gaining-all in gut. On anti-cramping meds and sometimes a pain killer if things get bad. Area where abscess was really hurts even though it has been 18 mo since it was taken care of. Other meds for HTN and high cholesterol (in control) Considering food allergy testing at this point since I do have a lot of allergies. I cannot work do to the cramping, bloating, and bathroom habits. Doctor says my Crohn's is mild and I am suffering from severe IBS. Any help?
