Blood in Stool, Slight Burning

by marko, Jun 11, 2001 12:00AM
Here are some symptoms that very alarming.  I have recently began seeing a little blood in my stool (in the last 6 months), at first it was just a little, but suddenly it is much more visible.  The stool is fairly loose, most recently.  I have fairly low-level burning sensation at the low intenstine (close to the rectum) after a bowel movement.  I have a polyp at the opening of the rectum, and have had it for a long time.  Lastly, there is a slight pain (a dull pain) in my lower back.  I frequently have heartburn, too.  My obvious concern is colon cancer, as cancer has been in my family.  Do these symptoms add up to something tangible?
