Blood in diarrhea

First off, I am an 18 year old female. The last two-three weeks, I have been having diarrhea. It has progressively gotten worse and to the point where I don't want to go out in public/with my friends, in fear that I will have to go to the bathroom when I am out. The last two-three days, I have been noticing slight blood in the diarrhea, as well. I have also been feeling nauseous, having stomach cramps, feeling slightly dizzy, and have been having reoccuring headaches. I also have been getting some chills and today I vommited one time from the continuing nausea. I also have anxiety, and I know stress can be a factor in bleeding.
I went to the doctor today, and she got me to take a blood test, a urine sample, and a stool sample. I turned in the urine and blood samples, but the stool sample I turn in tomorrow morning. I should know my results within the next day or two. The doctor reassured me that all should be fine, and that most likely I have some sort of intestinal virus or stomach virus. She said most likely e.coli, salmonella, or gasterotetris (spell?), considering I eat a lot of salads and e.coli and salmonella are common if the lettuce is not washed properly.
I am still concerned though, and I would like to know if others have had these symptoms so I can compare and maybe rest assured for a day or two until the results come in. Thanks!
