Bloody stools

I am worried about my brother..He has been experiencing lower intestinal pains and then has several watery bowel movements and then passes pure blood afterwords, could anyone tell me what the problem might be?

I would advise to get him to the Emergency Room. If he is 'passing' copious amounts of blood, my first thought is internal bleeding.... especially if this is something that came on rather suddenly.... be advised, though, this kind of blood from internal bleeding tends to have a darker almost black color and a tarry consistency. Bright red blood is probably originating closer to the 'exit' and, therefore, is a more minor problem. Never hurts to get things checked out in the ER if you're not sure. Good luck.
