Bowel movements after eating cheese or drinkinkmilk.

I was operated on for Diverticulitus in Aug. of 94.Two years later I was hit with terrible stomach pain and 105 degree fevers.I was back in for more colon Re-section surgery because as the Doc. said,"The last Doctor missed some Diverticuli".So I had six more inches removed and wore a colostomy bag for seven months before being hooked up again.I am having some strange symptoms in the last year.If I eat cheese or drink full fat milk(I drink fat free most of the time) I become bloated, have gas, then bowel movements.Ihave bm,s usually3or4 times. If i eat cheese two days in a row I,ll have constant bowel movements and terrible bloating and pain down on my lower left side and i definitly know what this is!!! The reason i'm writing is last week I made pizza and about two hours later I threw up violently,I was very sick.I eat plenty of Fiber(I'm aChef)I get it for free.So I clean out good but this milk fat thing has me scared.Another Re-Section and it is permanant Colostomy!!!! Anybody have a clue here.I'm scared man!!!!

lactose intolerance would be worse with low-fat or fat-free, not better. (fat slows emptying of stomach giving more time to digest the lactose). It seems the fat may be the cause. Also, LI doesn't cause vomiting, especially not violent vomiting.

You may have gallbladder or liver issues or possibly pancreatitis due to a bile blockage backing up.

See a doctor ASAP.

IBS is one idea.  Another is that you have become lactose intolerant since your surgeries.  If you cut out all dairy foods, including cheeses, chocolates and ice creams for 10 days to empty your system of all dairy products. Your symptoms should be better or gone.  Re-introduce dairy products one item each week to see which ones are giving you problems.  Those items (or all) need to be removed from your diet altogether.  Your body simply cannot tolerate it any more and you will have to learn to do without them.  Sad, I know, but necessary for healthy living. If taking dairy out of the diet completely (read labels for even small amounts of milk fats included)doesn't help get rid of your symptoms, then IBS is my next guess. Either way you should work with your doctor for a diagnoses.  good luck
