Whenever I exert myself by doing situps, stretching, etc. there is a noticable bulge just below my sternum that extends maybe 3 to 4 inches. It is not painful, but does feel "spungy." One other symptom however is present. When I am doing anything aerobic, and get my heart rate up I develope a sensation in the same area, that developes into nausea. Not sure if the two are related. I am not overweight.
My husband has this, and he also noticed it while doing sit-ups. Turned out to be an abdominal hernia. Docs say there is no need to worry about it at this point. It has gotten larger, but they don't seemed concerned nor is my husband. Hope this helps.
