Burning chest pain with acid reflux?

by jo429, Apr 12, 2008 11:03PM
Burning chest pain started lightly 2 months ago and increased in frequency and intensity until it got so bad I went to emergency 2 weeks ago.  Doctor did ekg, cardiac enzymes and chest x-ray which all turned out okay.  She said it was acid reflux and suggested Pepcid 2 times a day.  That seemed to work for a week but doesn't seem to stop or prevent things very well now.  I've made diet changes but don't know what more to do.  The pain starts in sternum area and radiates through and across chest and into neck.  I'm not familiar with acid reflux...is all this burning pain normal and is there any hope for normalcy with this condition?
