After being treated 5 times with meds, She is still testing positive for C. Diff. What is the next step?
More Flagyl (spelling?) Or time for different treatment?

Another person posted on this same matter, on 11/18.  Here is a link I provided them concerning your friend's health issue:

Hi Cris...recurring C Diff here too.  Are the symptoms still going on or just the test result?  (and we all know what those obvious symptoms are..ughh).  From what Ive read (cdiffsupport.com etc), we can still test positive for a long time after we are "cured", but dont have the toxins that make us ill.  Flagyl failed for me too, and again, have read that "flagyl failures" are getting more common.  I started the Vanco, now on the Vanco taper and crossing my fingers.  A GI doc in the ER took pity on me after a violent relapse (and I tested  false negative), and went right for the vanco instead of another round of Flagyl.  Amazing how much better I felt by simply eliminating the Flagyl side effects.   I love that man, whoever he was..lol.  Best of luck to you, this is one nasty bug that doesnt wanna die easily.
