CAN I DO WORK OUT /WEIGHT TRAINING/ LIGHT EXERCISE

CAN I DO WORK OUT /WEIGHT TRAINING/ LIGHT EXERCISE

I have a large Haital Hernia, with Barrett's Esophegus

I have a sedentary life style, with a desk job

I am 40 years old, with 136 lbs, height 5ft 8 in.

CAN I START SOME EXERCISE, WITH LIGHT WEIGHTS, DUMBLES, OR WITHOUT WEIGHTS LIKE CRUNCHES AND PUSHUPS, SIT UPS, SQUATS,

WILL IT HAVE ANY SHORT TERM OR LONG TERM EFFECT ON MY HAITAL HERNIA AND OVERALL MEDICAL CONDITION.

Is there an exercise, or routine, work out which I can follow without affecting my Haital Hernia condition.

Please share your views.

thanks

Jimmy

I have a haital hernia also, it might be good to walk , and if you feel good enough increase your walking distance and speed.  sit up straight and eat small and more frequent meals.  you could also have an endoscopy to look at how your hernia is effecting you .(  The endoscopy was easy, they put you to sleep and then they were finished, waking me up.)  I would think the weights you should talk to your doctor ..      or   at least do light weights and small repatitions.   then in a week or two slowly increase your   reps, and weight.   It's all trial and error.  if you take it slow you shouldn't hurt to much. and if you hurt stop!!!! besides a normal muscle hurt... thats natural.
