CAT SCAN???

by estupar, Dec 07, 2001 12:00AM
2 months ago my husband had upper GI done and now they want to do  CAT SCAN on him.His primary care is very conserned about the radiation exposure, because his 1st X-ray was only 2 months ago.
I called our CAT SCAN dept. and they said it's fine, but I don't want to make a mistake....

Ema - I don't think you have anything to be worried about.  I personally have had 6 CT Scan's an MRCP (which is an MRI), and an ERCP which they used an xray machine since May 2001.  My doctors have not been concerned at all.  I think if there was a major risk in doing so many CT Scans they would have never ordered them.  Hope this input helps.  Take care and Happy Holidays!
