CMV and GI tract

I have been diagnosed with Acute CMV.  Before I had the bad fever, night sweats and other symptoms, I noticed an uncomfortable feeling in my left side directly under the bottom of my rib cage (spleen?).  As I have been getting better slowly from the CMV, the uncomfortable feeling in that area has been gradually going away but comes back here and there.  I've been feeling the effects of this for about 5 weeks and also have had more frequent soft stool (twice a day) this entire time.  I also have an uncomfortable stomach every once in a while and aches here in there all around in my abdominal area.  Should I be concerned about a GI infection related to the CMV?  Can GI infection lead to CMV or vise versa? Can I ask for a specific test for an infection and is there a treatment for an infection in the GI tract caused from acute CMV?  And lastly, how long does this last?  All other symtoms (symptoms) have gone away after a month except for the weird uncomfortable abdomen stuff.

Thanks for any light that could be shed on this!
