CONCERNED LADY?

by MAF31, Apr 29, 2002 12:00AM
Thanks for all the info you post. I think it's great! My question for you is this. How do you go about finding a GOOD alternative/intergrative doctor for digestive diosorders? I've been to the ACAM.com, but all docs live too far. Also, this book you mention. I don't suffer with GERD, so would this book help with gastritis? What is it mainly about?

Many thanks to you!
Mark

Dear Mark,

Thanks for your kind words. I wish I had some easy quick answers for you. It's not always easy to find a good doc (allopathic or holistic). They seem to be few and far between, like rare gems. But keep searching!

I think that sometimes word of mouth can be a good way, because then, you know the person who is recommending the doc, but even this is not always foolproof.

I think that the "tips" and books, about gastric reflux, can definitely help with gastritis too.

I hope you can find your CAUSES of your gastritis. Try to gently eliminate, lessen, or treat those causes.

Run the gastric tips by a good doc, to be sure they are OK for you to try. These tips come from books & websites, that are on my reference pages (page 9 & "links" page) of my website about VCD/Vocal Cord Dysfunction. Here's a link.

To find out more information about gastritis:

Look in holistic books, at health food stores and at bookstores, and in libraries.

Get some literature about gastritis from your doc, to compare with the holistic info.

Type "holistic gastritis treatment" (or something similar), into the address bar of a search engine, and read through some websites.

Hopefully, some folks here will share their experiences and ideas with you, about gastritis.

I wish you the best!

Sincerely, Concerned lady

Mark,

That book by Michael T. Murray, N.D. (can be found on his website) is about all sorts (but not every single one) of digestive problems. It's a very good book, with lots of helpful, practical info.

It's called STOMACH AILMENTS & DIGESTIVE DISTURBANCES.

I like a good acupuncturist, good osteopaths, etc.

I hope you feel better soon!

Sincerely, Concerned lady
