Can H Pylori Return - Anyone Had it Return?

Hi folks. I had an endoscopy last November that found H Pylori. We did the triple thing with antibiotics and bismuth, and I've been on a PPI since last summer. My original symptoms were chest pain and frequent belching. They went away for a couple months after the drug regimen, but have returned. They seem a bit more intense this time around. Anybody had the bacteria return? I'm having a gb ultrasound Tuesday (per my regular doc) and I see my GI doc at the end of the month (the soonest date he had...ugh!).

Matt

I am very worried for my mum.  She suffers from gastric pain alot.  Has been having these pains for the last 8 years.  She has no gallbladder.  This was removed 19 years ago due to stones.

SHe had 4 gastroscopis, each one showing no cause for concern.  Only inflammation due to H Pylori virus, which was eventually cured with triple treatment.

Lately, the pains have become more frequent, almost 4 times weekly, and I am very worried for her.  Bile duct reflux has been cited as a possible cause, but no doctor has ever, hit the nail spot on, and really determined the root of the problem.  She usually has to vomit to relief the pain.   Lately, she noticed that when she is feeling constipated, the pain is more likely to occur.  Strangely, the pain never occurs while sleeping.  Anyone has any suggestions or recommendations pls?  My email is anfield6 at gmail dot com

Hi matt,  I had a similar thing happen and took the two antibiotics plus PPI (prevacid) last month after my family Doctor did some blood test and found H. Pylori.  For some reason, my stomach pain got better after the antibiotics but now after 4-5 weeks, the pain starting to come back.  I made appointment to see specialist (GI) last week and now have appointment for all the Ultrasound, Xray, blood, urine, & stool test this week.  Not sure yet what is the problem.
Good luck with your test.
