Can a Type 1 Diabetic donate part of liver

Hello, I am a 33 yr. old woman who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 15. I have been poorly controlled throughout , but am in pretty good health, no kidney or eye disease. My HA1C IS 9.5, however. My mother was just recently diagnosed with Hepatitis and liver cirrosis (cirrhosis). She at first was being given pega..interferon? , she has low platelets, was told she cant even shave for fear she will nick herself, she is fatigued constantly, has diarreah (diarrhea) and vomiting, and recently had an episode of delirium, when she couldnt even remember my stepfather, became combative andfell when she attempted to walk, due to a wobbly gait. Well, the medicine was  causing her blood count to become too low, and they discontinued it. She will not tell me very much except that the dr. mentioned trying to get her on a donor list. Does this mean she is goin to die? and can I  donate a peice of my liver to help her, and if I did would I be in worse health, I have 4 children to look after. And would it even make a difference if they havent cured the hepatitis cant she just destroy the new liver.
