Can one have a yeast infection in ones intestioal trac

by memomlovesu, Mar 28, 2009 12:11PM
I had a horrible winter of sinus infections, broncohial infection, and ear infections.  I was on avelox for two weeks got well and one week after finishing the antibiotic came down with a broncohial infection and laryngitis.  the Dr. put me on LevaquinTabs for another two weeks.  I was feeling fine and again started getting fluid in my ears, dizzy, so Dr. tried one week of Pretnezone.  I kept thinking the whole time I was on all these antibiotics, when am I going to get a yeast infection from hell.  Well, the last day I was on the Pretnezone all hell broke loose.  Had a major yeast infection the Dr. gave me Clindesse Cream and Fluconazole Tablets three times.  I felt like the vaginal problem got better but I started having abdominal pain.  After three weeks of feeling bloated, gassy, and a pain that went from my navel to my right side, the Dr. recommended I have a Colonoscopy.  Had a Colonoscopy on March 12.  They did biopsys and the results were Scattered diverticula in left colon with the mucosa normal in appearance  They also did a EGD with biopsys and Esophagitis in lower esphagus, a hiatal hernia and an ulcer was found in the antrum.  It was clean based and small.  They said the duodenal bulb was normal.  My Dr gave me  Omeprazole DR CAP 20MG once a day.  I have been on them for a week now and I am still feeling bloated, gassy, my stomach feel hard and I just want to sit and not mive because I don't feel well at all.  My question is,  a health center in Reno told me maybe I have a yeast infection still my colon she recommended I try a natual herb meication called GI-Yeast and it does make me feel much better.  Is this true, Can one have a yeast infection in ones GI trac?  If so what is the best treatment?  I have called the Dr. who did my Colonoscopy and she only works two days a week and has never called me back.  I am tired of not feeling well.  I am normally an active person and I want my life back!
