Can you help me clear the air? - Metallic stool smell

I am 41 - and have high cholesterol - high triglycerides - father passed away of heart attack in 1976 at age 39.  Recently moved to 40 mg of crestor daily (from 20mg) and I have increased my omega III supplement (fish oil) by 50% (2100 mg from 1400 mg)...

This is about the time I noticed the rancorous/metallic smell resulting from my bowel movements (other than normal of course!)...stool is also looser.

Could either of these changes in medicine/supplement cause the above condition or would you advise seeing a physician..
