Cancer

I have been having stomach pain for approximately 2-3 months. I have had an upper G.I. done and a CAT scan of the lower sotmach and Pelvic area. Would the CAT scan show any cancers such as the Liver, Pancreas, stomach, etc. Had a colonospy done about 2 yrs. ago. Had one non-maligrant polup removed. What is causing this stomach pain to last for such a long period of time? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I don't mean to scare you, I am looking on this site for answers also.  Because my step sister just passed away after a year long battle with stomach cancer the type is called Abeno Carcenoma.  And now my other step sister is being checked. They just found she has a stomach infection called H. Pylori, apparently anyone can have this infection without knowing and may cause ulcers or Acid reflux.  But because she has a higher risk of stomach cancer, they are treating it with antibiotics.  If it doesn't clear up they have to remove her stomach.  This type of infection can lead to the exact same stomach cancer my other sister passed away from.and her biological Mother passed away from at age 36.  And my sister was only 19 when she passed away Sep 9th 2009. She would have been 20 on October 31st this year.  My surviving step sister just turned 18.  She is not having symtoms but precautionary tests. Anyway my point is that my sister that passed only had stomach/ flu like symptoms.  Stomach pain, diahreah ,then constipation so bad she was vomiting everything.  She was in and out of the hospital on IV fluids for a few months until my mother took her to different hospital and demanded they find the cause.  Each time they would send her home cause her symptoms would get better because the IV fluid and not eating. This started around september 2008, she had CAT scans/ MRI's / blood work... NON of these tests showed cancer.  They were thinking Chrones diseses, since they ruled out CAncer and everything they could think of.  She went in for surgery in March they were going to remove her appendix due to a huge amount of pain, when they opend her up they found tumors on her colon and intestines. They removed 9feet of intestine but could not get all the cancer out.  Then they did a scope in her stomach that showed cancer. So they determined the cancer started in her stomach and was a rare fast growing agressive cancer already in stage 4.  She had heavy rounds of Chemotherapy for a few months and they did another CAT and MRI ( idk why since they couldn't see her type of cancer and tumors from the MRI and CAT previously) they did not see any tumors in these scans after chemo but she was getting worse and vomiting 7 or more times daily.  They said her colon was tumored and needed to be romoved and would place a colostomy bag.  When they opend her up for surgery, they seen all her bowels were tumored, they could not even get to her colon or wherever they needed to get because of all the tumors.  They had to close her up after doing nothing and gave her approximatly 8-12 weeks to live.  She only made it 2 weeks.  I hope this is not what you are going through, I just want people to be aware that cancer is not always detectable with the methods they use.  And if you know something is NOT right... you need to fight for answers and do NOT go home until they have done everything.  I would demand a scope of my stomach if having persistant pain and no answers.
Blessings and best wishes to you.

Have you had any bloodwork done?  This can cover a multitude of things.  Have you had your bladder checked, and prostate?  Also, if they found one polyp, I would have another colonoscopy, since you having the pain.
