While looking around on the net I discovered this. Does anyone know if it works or is in use widely ?

"Now there is a patient friendly pH test for diagnosing Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) - it's called the Bravo pH test. The Bravo pH System is designed to eliminate the uncomfortable trans-nasal catheter that is associated with traditional pH studies. Bravo is the world's first catheter-free pH system that allows patients to enjoy their regular diet and activities without the embarrassment and discomfort associated with traditional pH monitoring.
During a Bravo pH procedure, a miniature pH capsule, that is approximately the size of a Tylenol™ gelcap, is attached to the wall of the esophagus. Throughout the study period, esophageal pH is measured for up to 48 hours, or twice as long as conventional pH monitoring systems. Several days after the study, the capsule naturally sloughs off the esophagus and passes through the patient's digestive tract.
Using radio frequency, the Bravo capsule transmits pH data to a small pager-sized receiver that is worn by the patient.
After the study period, pH data stored in the receiver is uploaded to a computer. The Bravo pH Analysis Software provides a comprehensive report for patient diagnosis."
