Chest discomfort due to gas?

Chest discomfort due to gas?

For the past 2 mornings, about 5 minutes after I wake up I experience a pain in my chest (just a bit under my breasts) that radiates across. It is not specific to the left or right. Right after I feel this pain (only lasts a second or two), I can hear my stomache gurgle. I find that I have to burp a lot and doing so usually makes it go away for awhile. The only diet changes I've had have been drinking some crystal light drink mix and I have been eating alot of pizza lately. Other than that, I'm very healthy (22 years old, 105 lbs, 5'2") aside from my anxious tendencies. I notice the pains the most in the morning, but I do get a few lingering throughout the day (usually after I eat) and before I go to bed. They are far less noticable then, though. Just wondering if gas can cause these types of pains and what I should take to alleviate them. I read some people having similar problems after starting to drink Crystal Light, so I'm just looking for your suggestions. Thanks!

It may just be gas.  Try lying on your left side at night and keep your head elevated more.  You can also chew a couple of tums before bed time.  It sounds like spicy food may be the culprit, cut these out and see if you improve.  Also don't eat too close to bedtime.
