Chest pain and stomache ache. Why?

by Svajone, Jul 13, 2009 10:01PM
For the past seven hours, I have had pain in my chest and my stomach. When I first felt discomfort (around four this afternoon) I thought it was because I hadn't eaten much. My body does some pretty weird things when I'm hungry. I had a wholesome dinner, but the pain didn't go away. On the contrary, in the past few hours, it has gotten gradually worse.

My chest feels like it is in a knot, and there is a blood vessel throbbing just to the right of my sternum. The stomach pain is almost unbearable, and very difficult to describe. The best analogy I could make would be it feels like there is a stone coated with acid inside my stomach. I took some Pepto Bismol thinking I had heartburn, but it nothing. My mother has acid reflux and an ulcer. Is it possible I do, too?

I should probably mention I consume 100mg of caffeine daily, at least. Do you think that has something to do with it?
