Chest pain/nausea

I've been having chest discomfort for awhile now. Finally went to the ER a month ago and just had a pocket of gas, they say. My dr. Gave mr some nexium, but it didn't help. I went back and also have problems with nausea now and he gave me carafate. Only been a few days but not noticing a difference! I no longer have a gallbladder. Do have some slight burning in my throat. The dr. Had me get another EKG and chest xray, should I ask about the scope? I'm so clueless!
