Chronic Appendicitis Does Exist

I suffered for 3 years with symptoms of gnawing and burning pain, and rumbling, gurgling gastric noises in my abdominal area. I lost about 45 pounds within a two year period by only being able to eat bland foods. The symptoms would occur about a day after eating fried foods, high fatty foods, sugary foods, and oil (salad dressing and butter). The pain (flare up) would last about 2 to 3 days. Antacids or no other medication stopped the pain. The gastroenterologist ordered a endoscopy and said there was mild stomach irritation found. He diagnosed me with gastritis/irritable bowel syndrome. My pain kept getting worst and I decided to seek a new gastroenterologist. He ordered me to get a cat scan of my abdomen and pelvis area. The cat scan showed problems with my appendix. The surgeon said I had a rare condition called chronic appendicitis. My appendix did not stop working at once, it was malfunctioning for almost 3 years gradually getting worst causing the above symptoms. I had my appendix removed two weeks ago. The surgeon said my appendix was abnormal. I am now able to eat high fatty foods, fast food, oils, and sugary food with no discomfort at all. The problem was not gastritis or irritable bowel syndrome, it was acute appendicitis.I am currently recovering from my appendectomy which is coming along well. The only discomfort I have is from the incisions and where the appendix was removed.
