When she has an ultrasound to look at the baby have them slide over a touch and look at her gallbladder. My wife had the same condition during pregnancy and it was stones lodged in her Gallbladder. They removed it 2 months after she gave birth. Doctor told us they see this problem alot with pregnancy.
Unfortunately there is not alot she can do about the pain during pregnancy (as if she doesn't have enough to deal with). Good luck and I hope she feels better.
