PrilosecPrilosec
Prilosec otc is the only thing that enables me to find relief. I have had bloodwork to rule out hepatitis. Also Gallbladder Ultrasound, EGD Scope, and CT Scan. All normal! Recently my doctor took me off the Prilosec and within a week the symptoms came back just as intense as before! I did some mission work in Quatemala at the end of April. Did I pick up something? Also I was in a car accident at the end of February, could this be significant? I
would be infinitely grateful if you could shed some light as to what I should do next! Thanks!
______________
Dear Chyrise,
Esophageal reflux can present burning pains n the abdomen and chest that are relieved by Prilosec. To confirm this diagnosis and esophageal 24 hr pH probe study must be done. An alternative explanation for your problem is gastroparesis. I do not think that the car accident played a significant rle in the evolution of your symptoms.
