____________
Dear John Creager,
Your fecal weight of 188 g for 3 days is approximately 3x normal.  Additionally, ypur frequency of defecation is greater than that observed by 99% of normal inidividuals without gastrointestinal problems (In a study of healthy individuals 95% had between 2 stool/ week and 3 stool/ day).  I am uncertain whether there is  aclassification of diarrhea severity for patients with your type of diarrhea.  There is a classification of illness for patients with ulcerative colitis in which frequency of defecation is one of the variables.  Although not relevant to your question, patients with 4-6 stool/ day were felt to have moderate diarrhea and those with more than 6 stool per day had severe diarrhea.
