failure in 2003 and was listed as terminal for nearly 2 months in the hospital but recovered so miraculously over the next 6 months that she was removed from the liver transplant list.
measured 18 and her Estimated GFR was 63. THey upped her water pills (forget the name) but it didn't help.
On 11/10 her BUN was elevated to 1.5 and her Creatnine measured 28 and her estimated GFR was reported as 39!
Her doctor put her on Lisinopiril and Digoxin for her heart (which I guess is supposed to take the swelling down somehow?) but hasn't bothered to see her nor test her blood again since 11/10. She is complaining about being dead tired ALL the time, the swelling is still bad, and her back is excrutiating now.
She is in a locked down facility so I have to jump through all types of hoops and raise a huge stink to get her help beyond what the doctor already did. I am her medical POA. Should I be raising a holy stink? How serious is this? I can't get another doctor to advise me b/c they don't want to offend her organizational doctor (who just quit recently, apparently). Right now, I'm trying to get someone to just take her blood and get more labs ran to see if the medicine is having an effect or not on her renal failure (which is what I ASSUME this is...right?) PLEASE...I am very scared and do not know what I should be doing to help my sister. Thanks -T-
