Colon Polyps

Colon Polyps

Hi.  I am 23 and had a colonoscopy (because I had bright red blood in my stool) on Friday.  The doctor removed 3 juvenile polyps and told me that it is normal to have blood in my stool for a few days.  The blood is still present.  I am not particularly worried and I already have a follow up appointment.  On Friday, he told me to take a stool softener twice daily for a month to keep my stools loose.  I have a few questions regarding this.  Is there anything else I can do to help the spots of the removed polyps heal?  How long (days) should blood be present after the procedure?  How much blood should be in the stool now?  It looks like it just tiny streaks on the stool, but the tiniest amount on the toilet paper (even less than prior to the colonoscopy).  Lastly, how long does it take for these polyp spots to heal?  Thanks.
