Colon spasms

I have been diagnosed with Colon spasms.  My episode started with pain in the lower-left side of the back and the lovwer-left front side below my belt, then I noticed blood in my stools.  My Doctor diagnosed me with diverticulosis.  I had a colonoscopy and had a few polyps (no Cancer - Thank God!!!).  However, I have been haunted by this for over 2 years now and am going in for another Colonoscopy.  My Doctor claims I have Colon Spasms, but I also get feverish a lot and get the chills often.  That sounds like something is infected,  Does anyone else feels feverish that has been diagnosed with Colon Spasms???

You may want to ask your doc about the use of Bentyl or something along those lines. Docs are typically not hesitant to prescribe this form of anti-spasm med.

There's no reason why you can't have two separate conditions causing this- Diverticulitis and Diverticulosis do both explain the fever and chills, and the blood. Colon spasms are absolutely miserable, but you might benefit from treatment using Belladonna extract- talk to your doctor about it. I went through a yearlong period of colon spasms when I was under heavy stress in college, and Belladonna was good for mitigating the symptoms.
