Colonoscopy Preparation-Caused Dehydration

Should colonoscopy preparations, like Trilytely, cause serious dehydration?

I was given a different type of colonoscopy preparation.  It was a non prescription medication.  I was not given Trilyte. You should ask your Dr about this.

Yes it did in my case.  I lost so much fluid, even though I drank lots of fruit juice, water etc like the Dr told me to, that I lost too much potassium and went into cardiac arythmia and had to be rushed to ER.  
The fruit juices I drank were not high enough in potassium to make up for all the fluids I lost.
