Colonoscopy prep question

Colonoscopy prep question

I have a colonoscopy coming up in a week and have a question regarding the clear liquid diet I have to follow. Is it alright to drink Enlive! (a clear liquid nutrion drink with carbs and protein)?

It's a low residue nutritional supplemtent drink supposedely fine for those on clear liquid diets. Will drinking Enlive interfere with the colon prep in any way? Can any GI doctors here confirm this?

PS
I noticed it also has 15% RDA of iron (which my prep instructions say to stop taking in the form of supplements 5 days prior to procedure). Also it has carbs (sucrose and corn maltodextrin). Does this pose any explosion risk (from possible malabsorbtion) in the event of a polypectomy?

Thanks

Since the instructions say "no supplements 5 days before procedure," that means you cannot drink your Enlive stuff.  While it may mean they don't want any capsules floating around in your intestines, to be on the safe side, it is better to err in the direction of not risking drinking the Enlive.  So, DO NOT DRINK IT.  I don't know the answer to your other question about "explosion," but if it has to do with the Enlive, since you won't be drinking it, that won't figure in.  Follow the prep instructions exactly to the letter and you can't go wrong.
