Colonoscopy while Pregnant?

by Anaya31, Oct 15, 2009 05:12AM
Hi,

I've been having loose stools (not diahrrea, just soft and constant feeling that I am not "empty". I usually have to go again about 10 minutes after the first time) Sometimes as often as 4 times a day)  for about 4 months now. I've been to my GP who did the standard blood test, blood in stool. Both came back OK. She also sent me to ultrasound for stomach, liver, pancreas - all OK. The only thing I have not had done was a colonoscopy. I just found out I am pregnant, 8 weeks. Can I still go have a colonoscopy done, or is there a better way to check if all is ok? I hope it's just a spastic colon, but don't want t run any risks. Any suggestions?

Yes, you can.  But call the GI's office and confirm this before making an appt.
