29 years of age!
Had colonoscopy 13 months ago because I had blood in the stools.
Findings were absolutely nothing, just a case of internal hemorrhoids.
However, I am now experiencing upper abdominal discomfort right in the middle of stomach. I usually have a bowel movement once a day but it tends to be hard and when I am through I don't feel as if the bowel has been completely emptied. Lots of white mucus in almost every bowel movement.
and belching and my stomach seems to always grumble making nosies. The last two days I had bright red blood on the outside of the stool, on the toilet paper when I wipe, and a small amount in the toilet itself. At times it hurts when my stools come out and I am just scared that something could have occurred in the past 13 months in my colon.
2 weeks ago I had an uper GI series done and everything was normal so if anyone could give some advice, I would appreciate it.
It sounds like you have IBS ( irritable bowel syndrome). You should try to ingest more fiber, that would help your stool to be a little softer. And mucus in your stool is another symptoms, and also the feeling of not finishing a bowel movement. I know the feeling because i have IBS. Also your stool being to hard might cut
IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion - meaning you've been tested for everything else and the docs can't figure out what's wrong. The blood you're experiencing is most likely nothing more than hemorroids (hemorrhoids) - they can be present internally and you never really know until one bursts due to hard stool. I wouldn't worry too much about that part of your systems, and as the other responder noted, slowly (and I mean SLOW!) adding fiber to your diet will help with the constipation.
Since you are now experiencing upper abdominal issues, you might want to be evaluated for gallstones
