Color of bowel movements

by twardy, Feb 17, 2002 12:00AM
I have noticed in the past few months that, along
with being constipated and having small, hard stools,
that there appears to be white specks in these stools.
What could this be?

I had the very same thing. My stools were comimg out like hard balls with white specks in them. Mentioned it to the Dr's and they had no clue, they looked at me like I must be crazy. I am thinking that maybe it was dried mucous. I have added more fiber and water to my diet and that seems to have helped greatly. I have not gone for any testing as of yet and I also have hemorrhoids so I have been also taking a fiber supplement like every other day. Don't really like taking anything because it makes me gassy. Try the fiber and water. It could take a while for it to work, and start slowly. Good Luck!
