Colostomy

My son is still  very sick. Doctors have determed that there is still fecal matter in his rectum that did not come out after his Colostomy and this is the source of his many terrible infections ,,Can this be true and how dangerous is this .It have been eigthteen months since his Colostomy.Now that are talking about surgery to remove the fecal matter.

PLEASE seek a second opinion on this!!!  I lost my son after a total colectomy due to doctors negligence.  If there is still fecal matter in there, they should have known this.  Don't trust that they are doing all they can....trust me on this.  If it were me I'd get your son to MD Anderson Hosp. in Texas as they are the best with gastrointestinal problems.  If you can't do this at least get a second or even third opinion.  It took 4 for my son but by then it was too late.
