Complicated Med Hx

by Keekee24, Apr 30, 2008 02:25PM
I'm a 24-year old African American female that has diagnoses of GERD, Barrett's Esophagus, genital herpes, and possible HPV.  All has happened in a year's time.  I want to know if any of these have any similar connection between them and if I have to go through with the surgical procedure to fix the Barrett's should I do that first or the hysterectomy that I might have to consider?

This discussion is related to The link between esophagitis and Barrett's Esophagus.

As I understand it they only recommend the surgery for esophagus when it's VERY serious.  Personally, I would do that one first then the hysterectomy....but what do the doctor's say?

I'm preparing for the esophagus surgery myself.  I have don't know if it's Barrett's Esophagus yet, but I do have erosion of the esophagus.  Dealing with all this stuff is a pain.
