Hello,
I have been posting on other threads here as well. I have been having health issues for probably about 6 months. My current problem seems to be this: On Saturday I had been constipated for about 2 days. When I finally was able to pass stool, it was exceptionally large and I felt a pain at the time, which I assume was an anal fissure
amount of blood was in the water and on the tissue paper. I started having regular stool, but each time on Sunday and Monday I felt pain an had blood in the water and on the paper. Monday I also noticed a small amount of black stool with the rest. Today I saw the doctor for this issue in conjunction with stomach pain. He thought the blood was anal fissure
and would clear up, and for the stomach pain gave me a PPI. I had another stool after coming home and it had the usual blood in the water, but there is more black now. I know that red stool is generally lower tract and less concerning while black in upper tract and more concerning. Is it likely that this increasing black blood is just from days of lower bleeding, or should I go back to the doctor? I asked him about the black part today but he seemed unconcerned.
Give it a couple of weeks and if it hasn't cleared up go back to the dr. If he doesn't seem concerned. Ask him isn't black showing blood in the stool from the upper track and lets find out why it is happening. If he still doesn't do tests, then go to a gi doctor.
