Okay. I am 30 years old. In 1998, i had some persistant heartburn and pain in the upper abdomen, they did an endoscopy and said i had gastritis. They did a biopsey for H.

Breath odor tests getting tested again to see if anything was eradicated. Fast foward to the beginning of 2001. I had similar pain (burning, nausea, acid reflux, etc). After numerous tests, nothig was found, it was thought to be acid reflux. Another Endocopy showed a small hiatal hernia and mild gastritis. Another biopsey for H. pylori came back negative. She said I might have chronic gastitis and did a blood test. I tested positive for H. Pylori with a level of 1472. She did the treatment again (Prevpac). Now, two weeks later, she said that it should have taken care of it and not to worry. But, I still have some of the heartburn and chest pain like acid reflux. I am confused and scared. I know you can do a breath test to see if it is gone. I am afraid of all this leading to gastric cancer (although I have never had ulcers). Can you explain all this and should i insist on a breath test? Can you be postive for the anitbodies and not have the bacteria present? Can you explain? Thanks.
