Constant RUQ pain, normal gb U/S, 5 wks pregnant

As the subject explains, I have been having severe RUQ pain (just under my right rib cage) for the past 3-4 months.  It's become much worse in the past 4 weeks.  I had a gall bladder U/S which was normal (no gall stones) and was supposed to have an abdominal C/T.  The morning of the C/T, I learned that I was pregnant (5 weeks). I just got out of the hospital yesterday (1 night stay), and they say they can't do anything because of the pregnancy.  They have to wait until I have debilitating pain or the pregnancy fails.  I now have mild numbness in my right hand, and tingling in my right arm (recurrent, not constant) and the RUQ pain is getting worse.  The GI dr and OB/GYN that discharged just told me to take MAALOX 3x/day...which doesn't seem like the best answer given I don't have normal heartburn or indigestion.  The only real guess the GI dr made was hietal hernia or sphincter of ODDI disfunction.  Does anyone have any idea what I should do? or what else this might be?

Well, it's really hard when you're pregnant as testing with dye and other meds can harm the baby. So can pain meds, etc. I remember when I was pregnant at the end I had bronchitis with 2 ear infections and the doctor gave me permission to take one tylenol! I had severe heartburn through both pregnancies and could only sleep sitting up, but only permission for maalox. Also morning sickness that was actually all day and all night for the whole 9 months, I vomited and had dry heaves it was awful but the doctor wouldn't give me anything for the nausea. Hopefully things will settle down for you and you won't need further tests or surgery. Of course they can do blood tests and see how your liver is, etc. Hope you feel better soon.
