I burp constantly after I eat, mostly at night. It goes on for hours after I eat. The ER dr. said that it was acid reflux and to take prilosec. But after months nothing has changed. What should I do? Dr visits are expensive, and I want to find out what is causing this.
Dan, you need to be checked for H. pylori. If that hasn't been done, request it. In addition, are you following a GERD-friendly diet? If not, it's something to consider because foods can make a difference in the acid production in the stomach. You can find a decent list of food do's and don't's at gicare.com or other sites dealing with GERD and digestive disorders.
