Constantly nauseous

Constantly nauseous

I am a healthy 31 year old female and for the last month I have been suffering from severe nausea, stabbing pain in my lower left abdomen, and feeling feverish. I feel so tired and have a hard time standing for long periods and am very gassy. My last period was abnormally long and really painful. I recently came off an elimination diet and have added dairy, wheat and caffeine back into my diet, could this be the problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

This sounds like what I go through myself.  I have less problems with the whole IBS issue, though, when I totally avoid gluten, dairy and coffee.  I know what you're talking about with your periods, too.

Try going back on your elimination diet and see if this makes a difference with your periods.  When I stopped gluten and dairy, I stopped having painful periods.  My periods also reduced in their length.  I still have heavy periods, but they're not a long and painful as they were before I discovered that gluten intolerance was the culprit.  Caffeine will aggravate your IBS symptoms and will make your uterus cramp more when you have your period.

If you're otherwise healthy, I think going back to the elimination diet will resolve your issues.

One other thing that causes me nausea, besides the IBS, is I learned that I have chronic migraines.  This might seem weird to someone who doesn't have migraines to not know it's a migraine.  The neurologist explained that I feel the aura, which includes the classic light and sound sensitivities, plus dizziness and nausea, even when I'm not feeling an actual headache.  Now that I'm aware of it, I know he is absolutely right.  How did I go through life and not know this was migraine?  Don't ask, because I don't know. ;)
