Constipation

Hoping someone can help me - I'm having some pretty major difficulties with constipation. I have tried everything I can think of - acidophiles, fiber supplements, laxatives, more water, more exercise, Miralax, prune juice, etc.

Colonoscopy came up with nothing, CT came up with nothing. Blood work showed a slightly elevated white count.

This is getting concerning because each of the above remedies will work for a few days, MAYBE a week at the most and then stop. I'm now at about 5-7 days between movements and counting. The only reason I can cap it at 7 is because I had an additional MRI this morning and the goop used isn't agreeing with me.

Any thoughts??

Have you tried milk of magnesia before?

Thank you so much! I've seen my GI and we completed a colonoscopy, found a fissure, and then he decided that was it. The root cause of all the problems. I spoke with a different doctor on this and she thought that yes, the fissure could cause some of the problems, but not to the severity I'm experiencing. So, we did an MRI, which revealed no structural problems in my colon (also confirmed by the colonoscopy) and I'm not getting ready to do a transit marker study, or something like that.

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Have you seen a gastroenterologist about this?  Out of all the laxatives out there, I have found that milk of magnesia works the best for daily use.
